He retired from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife as an Area Wildlife Biologist for Okanogan County in the mid 90's.  Jerry dedicated his entire life to protecting wildlife and educating people about the value of wildlife and habitat in North Central Washington.  Jerry loved the outdoors and the fish and wildlife that resided there.  He had an incredibly pleasant and accommodating personality and combined that with his love of wildlife to help people understand the value of protecting and conserving wildlife.  Wildlife lost a dedicated advocate and we lost a great friend.

Her advocacy there brought her to the WWF as a committed conservationist with a track record for building community, membership in an organization and fundraising. Ellen loves to stay at home and cook, paddle the canoe and swim on Lake Howard with her children. They also enjoy day-hikes in the Pacific Northwest, spotting bald eagles and dark-eyed juncos, watching their red worms work, and raising pet bunnies and a growing roost of chickens for fresh eggs. The kids are working on convincing her to return to camping.
